About Sharon and The Trainers Training Company |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sharon Gaskin ![]() I’m Sharon Gaskin, I’m the founder of The Trainers Training Company and I work with freelance trainers to help them create and grow successful and profitable training businesses. I’m someone who has been in training and development for 20 years, I’ve worked within large corporates as a Training Officer and Training Manager. 8 years ago I became a freelance trainer. I started from scratch, I had just moved into a new area, I didn’t know anyone, didn’t know anything about marketing or selling. Yet I managed to create a successful training business with many corporate clients such as Zurich, Europ Assistance and Lloyds Register Quality Assurance. In 2008 I set up the Trainers Training Company. One of the biggest frustrations for me when I started out as a freelance trainer was the lack of information and support to help me start up and grow my business. There was a lot of generic advice around on starting a business but nothing specific to my situation which was a freelance trainer. And during the back end of 2007 I was finding increasingly that because people knew that I was doing it they started coming to me for advice on the things they should do become a freelance trainer, things like "How do I get corporate clients?" "How should I market myself?", and "How do I work out what to charge?" So I created The Trainers Training Company which is a 1 stop shop for freelance trainers to help them create and grow their businesses. It is now my main priority and focus and I am absolutely passionate about it. I’m a freelance trainer myself, I’ve been there and done it and I know how hard it can be, particularly when you first start out. But with the right resources, information and support, there’s no reason why you can’t succeed as a freelance trainer. Gary Gorman
I first met Sharon face to face in September 2009 but had got to know her very well previously through us both being Twitter-addicts! I guess we just clicked despite the fact that she’s a Manchester United fan! I got interested in the Trainers Training Company because I felt it filled a definite gap as a true support network and resource for freelance trainers. Sharon has so much knowledge about the pleasures and pitfalls of running your own training business and communicates this in a common sense and realistic way….I just felt I wanted to be part of it. I’m delighted to be working jointly with Sharon to help roll out the How To Create A Successful and Profitable Training Business – The Easy Way programme nationally. I’ll be facilitating the workshops north of London and in the East Midlands and I look forward to welcoming you to the sessions!. |
